This two-day records course is for public officials, police/fire records clerks, private ambulance companies servicing government accounts, and attorneys who regularly handle public records and medical records.  Day 1 of the course will focus on Ohio's public records law which a specific emphasis on digital and electronic records.  There is a minor review of the public records act and a strong emphasis on recent court opinions affecting compliance of public offices with Ohio's public records act.  Day 2 of the course will focus on HIPAA compliance and getting access to HIPAA data.

This course has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 12 total CLE hours of instruction.

  • Getting access to HIPAA data;
  • HIPAA in the workplace
